There are many State funding options for financing when it comes to security posture improvements.
The Texas House Bill 3 has allocated $820M via competitive grants across the state. The final $300M will be allocated in January per school size.
Oklahoma Senate Bill 100 has allocated $90,000 per ISD. Also, there are many OK ISDs with awards from the BSCA grant that have not utilized their funds.

The federal government offers grants that can provide up to $500,000 per ISD.
Depending on your county and the federal eRate classification, you may qualify for those funds without any matching dollar requirements. The next application round will open around February 2024. Planning your budgets and completing your assessments early will make this process go much smoother.
Additionally, FEMA and the USDA have grant funds available.

If your school has the capability of passing bonds, doing the math for an improved security posture divided by the number of students and school days results in potentially a $1.87 per student per day investment. Aren't our children worth a coffee or cola per day? ... a low blow yes, but this may provide the analysis and community information needed to pass a bond.

The Greenlights Grant Initiative is focused on raising awareness about school safety grants, equipping school districts with resources and tools for successful applications, and ensuring continuous and more equitable federal funding for school safety.
They offer a range of resources to school districts including webinars, guidebooks, how-tos, tutorials, and other tools to help districts win federal dollars. They do not provide actual funds to spend on your project.
